I’ve recently bought an Ipod Touch for myself. A second generation with 32 gb of memory, to be precise. Meanwhile my girlfriend has bought an Iphone, of which the phone contract hasn’t started yet. I’ve gathered some tips while figuring out how this thing works that might be handy for others. Let me know in the comments if you know any more. I’d also like to hear about your favorite app.
- Tap the spacebar twice while typing to get a period and a space.
- To add special characters quickly press “123″ and while keeping your finger on the glass slide to the character you’d like. The iphone switches keyboards back automatically. Also works for shift.
- Read my previous blogpost about adding Hotmail to an iphone or ipod touch.
- To add or edit text, press your text for a couple of seconds and a magnifying glass will appear.
- Iphone: press the homebutton twice for you favorite contacts.
- Ipod touch and iphone while playing music: press the homebutton twice for a pop-up in which you can control your music.
- Are you still using you original apple headset (buy some sennheisers for 20 bucks, but okay), then you can use the plastic piece in te cord to control your ipod .Click once to start the music, click again to pause. Doubleclick to forward one track and click three times (fast) to ga one track back.
- While surfing in Safari, tap the bar on the top with the clock to go back to the beginning of the page. Also works in some other apps.
- To delete emails easily while you’re in your inbox, slide right or left on a message header. Tap edit in the upper right corner to delete multiple emails.
- Enable caps lock in settings > General > Keyboard. Now dounletap on the shift key for caps lock.
- To add a screen capture to your saved photos hold the homebutton and press the sleepbutton on top.

Ik heb mijzelf onlangs een Ipod Touch aangeschaft. Een tweede generatie met 32 gb geheugen om precies te zijn. Ondertussen heeft mijn vriendin een Iphone gekocht, die vandaag geactiveerd word, maar al een tijdje gebruikt kon worden zonder telefoonabonnement. Al met al heb ik een paar tips opgepikt die anderen misschien handig vinden. Laat het weten in de comments al je zelf ook nog een handigheidje hebt. Ook hoor ik graag je favoriete app.
- Druk tijdens het typen twee keer op de spatie en je krijgt een punt en een spatie.
- Om snel leestekens in te voegen druk op “123″ en zonder los te laten schuif je vinger naar het leesteken dat je wilt invoegen. De iphone gaat dan automatisch terug naar het qwerty toetsenbord. Werkt ook voor shift.

- Om tekst aan te passen of in te voegen, houd je vinger even op een gedeelte van de tekst en er verschijnt een vergrootglas.
- Voor de iphone: druk twee keer op de homebutton om je favorietenlijst van contacten te zien.
- Voor de ipod touch en de iphone als je muziek speelt: druk twee keer op de homebutton om je muziek te besturen. Werkt ook als je een andere applicatie hebt geopend en ook in de slaapstand.
- Gebruik je nog de originele apple oordopjes (koop beter sennheisers van 2 tientjes, maar vooruit), dan kun je het witte plastic stukje in het snoer gebruiken om de ipod te besturen. Klik 1 keer om muziek af te spelen en nog een keer om te pauzeren. Dubbelklik om 1 nummer vooruit te spoelen en 3 keer (snel) om een nummer terug te gaan.
- Tijdens het surfen in Safari, druk op balk bovenin met de klok om naar het begin van de pagina te gaan.
- Om makkelijk mail te verwijderen terwijl je in de inbox bent, schuif met je vinger naar links of rechts over het bericht. Druk op “wijzig” rechtsbovenin om meerdere emails te verwijderen.
- Voor caps lock, schakel het in via instellingen > Algemeen > Toestenbord. Dubbeltik nu op de shift voor caps lock.
- Om een screencapture in je filmrol te zetten houd je de homebutton ingedrukt en druk je op de sleepbutton bovenop.
